Dr. Howard T. Washington is Pastor of Second Baptist Church, the oldest African American Baptist Church in Columbus, where he has served since 2006.

Dr. Washington received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick NJ in Political Science and earned his Master of Governmental Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia PA. He earned a Master of Divinity with honors from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa OK and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland OH.

He currently serves as President of the Baptist Pastor’s Conference of Columbus & Vicinity, Moderator of the Eastern Union Missionary Baptist Association and Former-Chair of the Healthy Congregations Board. He also serves as Dean of Congress on Christian Education of the Ohio Baptist General Convention.

Dr. Washington and his wife Floria, are parents to two adult children, Malcolm and Kamilah Morgan, one daughter-in-love Micah Morgan, one son-in-love Rev. Ian Morgan, and grandparents to two grandsons and one granddaughter.
